BISMARCK, N.D. - The Bismarck School Board is leaning toward hiring an interim superintendent for the 2018-19 school year.
Board members held a special meeting today to see if they could start the full hiring process. Six of the seven largest school districts in the state are hiring new superintendents, but Bismarck is starting the process later than others.
“If we could find quick replacement that will do the job and do the job well, just to get us over until we can spend the appropriate amount of time until we can go through a full process, that's what we're trying to get to,” School Board President Karl Lembke said.
Lembke added he's hopeful the board will make a decision between an interim or full search at Monday's board meeting.
