BPS approves use of additional portable classrooms
The Bismarck Public School Board approved the use of portable modular classrooms as a short term solution to address the enrollment spike, primarily on the elementary level.
BPS could purchase as many as six additional portable classrooms for next fall as a short term solution to space issues.
BPS Superintendent Jason Hornbacher said: “All though I’m excited I’m excited that we're getting more space, so we're not cramming and crushing kids into classrooms or buildings. I have all the faith in the world in the educators that we have in Bismarck schools, that they'll do a great job, regardless of the condition you give them.”
Hornbacher also says the portable classrooms would cost an estimated $340,000, which would pay for about six to10 classrooms, but he knows they need four for sure right now.
