Appeal made in Minot attempted murder case

MINOT, N.D. - A Minot man serving 20 years in an attempted murder case had his appeal heard before the state supreme court Monday.

Forty-six-year-old Travis Yoney was sentenced to 20 years in prison in August.

A jury convicted Yoney in April on six separate charges, including attempted murder, burglary, and terrorizing.

Investigators say Yoney fired a round at a home, and then broke in and fired again.

Yoney is disputing the attempted murder charge altogether and claims there was not enough evidence to convict him of terrorizing.
