UPDATE:

An eastbound Amtrak Empire Builder train that was stuck just west of Rugby is moving again and headed toward Minneapolis, according to an Amtrak official and a passenger on the train.

The train, which is eventually headed for Chicago, had to stop this morning after snow was blocking the tracks.

Amtrak says the train, which was delayed for roughly 13 hours, started moving again around 7: 40 p.m.

A westbound Amtrak train that is stuck near Devils Lake will also start moving again as soon as the track is cleared..

ORIGINAL STORY 3/8:

snow bank is preventing an Amtrak train from getting any further than Rugby Wednesday.

The Empire Builder train was delayed in Minot last night and left early Wednesday morning on its way to Chicago. It got stuck about five miles west of Rugby.

Amtrak says crews are doing everything they can do get the train back on schedule, but it could take up to 15 hours to clear the snow off the tracks.

Amtrak says everyone on board is safe.
