As tensions escalated Thursday at a Dakota Access Pipeline protest camp north of the Cannon Ball, N.D., Amnesty International USA decided to send a delegation of human rights observers to monitor law enforcement's response to protests.
The organization has also sent a letter to the Morton County Sheriff's Department expressing concern about the degree of force used against the protests.
The non profit will also call on the Department of Justice to investigate police practices.
