VALLEY CITY, N.D. – A judge has ordered Alexander Lail to 12 years in prison.
A jury found Lail guilty on two counts of attempted murder in August.
Lail faces 11 felony counts total in four separate case files. He pleaded guilty to several charges in the other case files, including drug and bribery charges.
One of the case files was connected to the former Wells County Sheriff Johnny Lawson.
Lail will receive credit for nearly two years' worth of time already served. Judge Daniel Narum also ordered Lail to serve five years of probation.
