MINOT, N.D. - Minot police arrested a St. John man late Sunday night in the northwest part of town for driving around a stolen car, after he told them he was giving the passenger driving lessons.
Police pulled over 26-year-old Skye Miller just before midnight after finding him driving around with no plates.
Police say Miller behaved oddly when officers asked him for his information.
Dispatch informed the officers the car was reported stolen out of Mandan, and Miller had a suspended license in North Dakota.
An officer noted that the temp sticker in the car’s back window did not match the VIN number on the dashboard.
Police say Miller told them he was teaching the passenger how to drive manual because she was considering buying the car from him.
He also said he planned to return the car to a person in Mandan.
Officers later found marijuana, residual amounts of meth, and drug paraphernalia in the car at impound.
Miller made his initial appearance in Minot district court Monday on theft of property and possession of drug paraphernalia charges. He remains in custody in the Ward County Jail.
The passenger faces a drug citation in traffic court.
