MANDAN, N.D. - Mandan High School made a big mistake Monday when it emailed second semester schedules for all 1,024 students to each student.
The problem is that the email included information that should be private to each student, like hot lunch numbers locker combinations, as well as addresses and phone numbers.
Administrators are asking that everyone delete that email.
In the meantime, students will be getting new hot lunch numbers, and they will be allowed to carry their backpacks to class with them to secure their personal belongings.
Mandan Public Schools posted this statement on their Facebook page:
“MPS takes its obligation to protect the privacy of personal information very seriously and deeply regrets this incident. We are focused on taking all precautions necessary by providing protection to anyone who has been impacted; and taking action to make sure this never happens again.” Jeff Fastnacht, Assistant Superintendent Mandan Public Schools.
