77-year-old Bismarck woman loses $19,000 in phone scam

BISMARCK, N.D. - A Bismarck woman is out more than $19,000 after a phone scam.

Bismarck police say a 77-year-old Bismarck woman received a phone call Monday afternoon from a man named “Victor” from Wyoming who claimed he was going to refund her money for services she previously purchased.

The woman gave the man her account and routing number.

The man took over $19,000 from her bank. Police say the money she lost is not insured by the bank.
