Dickinson starting a curling league

DICKINSON, N.D. - City leaders are working to bring more activities to Dickinson to improve the well-being of the residents.

The latest activity: curling.

Bismarck's curling league helped the recreation and facilities department start one of its own. The director was hoping for at least 16 teams and ended up with 24.

"We have already talked about starting another league in January since this was so successful, so we'll just have to see how that goes and I think things are looking good," said Matthew Mack, director of Recreation and Facilities in Dickinson.

Mack says team fees are $250 for ice time and equipment.

The official league starts next Tuesday and lasts for nine weeks.
