BISMARCK, N.D. - The 50th Annual UTTCT International Powwow kicked off Friday with the Grand March and the area was abuzz with energy and culture.
The Grand Entrance featured intertribals and Tiny Tots a dance contest, and the honoring of 86-year-old Joe White Mountain Senior, who is the last surviving Korean War Veteran from Standing Rock.
"You get to see every category. You get to see all kinds of colors. You get to see culture; that's what we're here mostly for, is to share our culture with the community. And for everyone to enjoy what we grew up knowing," said Powwow committee chair Katt Schapin.
