Organization raises money to support premature and sick infants

BISMARCK, N.D. - Some spent this chilly day indoors eating chili.

It was all for a good cause. Proceeds from Sunday's chili feed at United Church of Christ in Bismarck will go to the Threads of Love project.

Threads of Love is a nonprofit with chapters across the country that provide clothing, blankets, and other handmade articles for tiny premature and sick infants. The chili lunch raised money to help members purchase supplies to make more quilts.

Camille Grothier says it's a good feeling helping the needy.

"It lets people know that even we have not met them personally, we care about them," said Grothier, event organizer.

The group will donate 27 quilts.
