Valentine's Day craft fundraiser helps provide horse riding scholarships for at risk youth

BISMARCK, N.D.- Valentine's Day crafts can be a nice gift for family but Harmony Stables decided to expand that list of gifts to horses as well, for a fundraiser.

People created Valentine Gnomes, also called Nisse in Norwegian they stay in the farmer's barn, watch over all of the animals and keep them safe.

The sweets and treats were already included during the event and a portion of the proceeds will go to Heart of the Prairie, a nonprofit that provides horse camp scholarships to at risk teens.

"Spend some time here at the barn and have a break with the horses, spend some time with the horses and meet some friends and just hangout," said Cherie Sanstead, Owner of Harmony Stables.

This fundraiser is the beginning of a series of events helping provide scholarships. For more information on the time upcoming fundraiser go to harmonystables.com
