MINOT, N.D. - Hundreds of rubber duckies took to the Souris River in Minot Saturday afternoon to raise money for local non-profit groups.
It was all part of the 4th annual Rubber Duck River Race.
People bought raffle tickets to 'sponsor' a duck.
The current carried the ducks down the river near Roosevelt Park, as anxious on-lookers cheered them on.
The money raised supports the groups Companions for Children, Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports, Independence, Inc. and the Minot Public School Foundation.
“We love to have a collaborative fundraiser, bringing four different organizations together for a common cause and raise some money, and it's a great way to get people out into the park to enjoy the river, and just get outdoors,” says Heather Cymbaluk, Companions for Children Executive Director.
A pink duckie and a purple one cross the finish line first!
