42 respond to house fire in Williston

A Williston home is considered a total loss after a fire broke out Saturday night, 42 firefighters responded.

It happened around 8:30 in the 900 block of 4th street.

Officers say a male was trapped in the back of the home. Responders were able to rescue the occupant who sustained injuries.

A cat was later rescued and taken to the city pound.

A total of two civilians and two police officers was transported to St. Alexius Hospital for evaluation, with one of the civilians being transferred to a burn center for further care.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
