Name released of pedestrian killed when hit by truck

WARD CO, N.D. - UPDATE: July 29th

The victim has been identified as Jordan Thomas Hagerott, 30, of Mandan.

Hagerott was walking from Minot to Mandan, in the roadway at the crest of a hill when he was struck by the Ford in the right hand lane. Hagerott was thrown onto an approach on the west side of the roadway and came to a rest laying down, facing south.

Hofstad pulled the Ford over onto the west shoulder after striking Hagerott and came to stop on the shoulder facing south. Hagerott was pronounced dead at the scene.

This accident remains under investigation by the NDHP. No charges have been filed at this time.

A 30-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a truck early Saturday morning. It happened around 1 a.m. a mile south of Max, ND.

North Dakota Highway Patrol says 22-year-old Marshall Hofstad of Coogne, MN and 21-year-old Wyatt Wilson of Underwood, ND were traveling south. The two were heading to Underwood from Minot in the right hand lane of US Highway 83, just south of Max, ND. The truck struck a 30-year-old male pedestrian standing in the right hand lane. The driver pulled over and came to stop on the shoulder of the highway facing south.

This accident remains under investigation by NDHP. The name of the deceased will be released once family is notified. No charges have been filed at this time.
