A Solen man has been charged with simple assault on a peace officer or correctional officer, preventing arrest and providing false information to law enforcement.

According to court documents, two Lincoln police officers tried to remove 29-year-old Dylan Himes from a vehicle after he gave false information and tried to drive off Feb. 7.

The Burleigh County Sheriff's office was called for assistance. Himes continued to struggle with the five peace officers before they removed him.

During the struggle, an officer was hit in the head and a deputy's hand was cut.
