2 men arrested after crashing stolen car into tree

BISMARCK, N.D. - While patrolling the area Bismarck police say they spotted a car that was stolen out of Mandan.

The car fled from officers by Gateway Mall Monday afternoon around 5 p.m.

Police say the 2005 Nissan Frontier was going fast and decided not to pursue because of traffic, but they followed it closely behind.

Officers say the man driving was 18-year-old Dominic Lange and the passenger in the car was 24-year-old Alexsander Hobbs.

They caught Lange when he drove into a dead-end road, crashed into a tree, and fled on foot North of Century Ave.

Hobbs ran East and was also caught. He was taken to the hospital, treated and then taken to jail.

Police say Lange was arrested for reckless endangerment, fleeing on foot, driving under suspension, fleeing on commission, possession of a stolen vehicle and he had four Burleigh County Sheriff’s Department warrants and one Bismarck Police Department warrant.

Court documents say Hobbs was arrested for failure to halt, theft of property, fleeing a police officer and possession of drugs.,

Their official charges have not been posted yet.
