16-year-old Mandan girl killed in crash

NEW SALEM, N.D. - UPDATE (11-29-19): UPDATE: The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the 16-year-old girl killed in Thursday's crash was Alexis Griffin.

They say she was taken to a Bismarck hospital by New Salem Ambulance where she was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash.


ORIGINAL STORY (11-28-19): A 16-year-old Mandan girl is dead after a two vehicle crash near New Salem Thursday afternoon.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says around 3:30 p.m., a 22-year-old man from Boerne, Texas was driving a pick up and hit the car the girl was driving.

The crash was on County Road 139, seven miles east of New Salem. NDHP says road conditions at the time were good.

Both cars rolled into the ditch.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The man was taken to Sanford Hospital in Bismarck with minor injuries.

The name of the 16-year-old girl has not yet been released.

The crash is under investigation by Highway Patrol.
