BISMARCK, N.D. - It wasn't a hot summer day but that didn't stop hundreds from getting ice cream at the former Governors' Mansion.
For more than three decades, the Historical Society of North Dakota has welcomed the public onto the property to enjoy music, petting zoos and of course, ice cream.
All while learning about the 19th century Victorian home. 101 year old Former First Lady of North Dakota, Grace Link, visited the ice cream social and says it's important for North Dakotan's to remember their history.
"Well, it just keeps us to remember our history and I think we need to keep track of our history,"
Link's late husband, Arthur Link, was the 27th governor of the state from 1971 to '81.
