Sarah Parkin
Digital Content Producer
Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Before joining the Dakota News Now team, Sarah graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December of 2019. During her time as an undergraduate, Sarah expanded her interests in human rights and civil liberties while interning with the ACLU of Nebraska. This experience was what led Sarah to pursue a Master of Arts in Human Rights Practice through the University of Arizona.
After completing her graduate studies in the summer of 2021, Sarah moved back to her hometown of Aberdeen, South Dakota. While she's spent the last few years in the communications department of various non-profits, she is eager to begin utilizing her journalism skills in an area she knows so well.
Sarah’s interests outside of work include intensely following NCAA women’s gymnastics, drinking craft beer, hiking, watching period-piece dramas on Netflix, reading and spending time with her friends and family.
