BERTHOLD, N.D. - There was a bit of a mix up with some narcotic evidence and donations going to the Boys and Girls Ranch earlier last week.

Berthold Police Chief Al Schmidt said a bag of marijuana, along with other evidence was being taken to be destroyed in a secured vehicle.

He said the marijuana was mistakenly put in with the toys and clothes being donated to the ranch.

The Ward County Sheriff’s Department was called out, secured the evidence and was able to give it back to the Berthold Police who were then able to properly destroy it.

No children were hurt.
