BELCOURT, N.D. – The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa lifted its burn ban across the reservation Wednesday.

The tribal chairman came to the decision with the fire chief Wednesday morning.

As of Wednesday, June 9, firework stands, burn barrels and fire pits are permitted.

The Belcourt Fire Department advises residents to monitor fire indices, have water on standby and contact authorities for updates on restrictions.
