BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - A man was saved from a near-drowning incident in Dickinson thanks to the quick actions of several police officers.

It happened at the Dickinson dike late Tuesday afternoon.

Police say a call came in of a man in his 20s who had been kayaking and now couldn’t keep his head above the frigid water.

Officers Alex Schroeder and Aaron Bates swam a life jacket to him and brought him to shore.

The water was about 50 degrees and as deep as 20 feet. The man was taken to the hospital. There’s no update on his condition.

The officers were examined and treated at the scene.
