Williston Mayor to Highlight Finances, re-election plans at next week’s state of the city
BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - It’s been a long year, and the road ahead isn’t certain according to Williston Mayor Howard Klug. He will be highlighting what’s ahead at next week’s state of the City Address.
The address is scheduled for Thursday, May 6, at noon at the Eleven Restaurant as part of the Williston Economic Development Summit. Klug says there won’t be too many big announcements, but he will discuss how the local departments are doing and where the city is at financially.
With uncertainties stemming from the Dakota Access Pipeline and the oil and gas industry, Klug says nobody can be sure of what the next year will bring to the City of Williston.
“There’s will be a lot of things I’m going to bring up next Thursday and just overall enthusiasm for the city of Williston with caution though, that we don’t know exactly what the next year is going to bring,” said Klug.
Klug is also expected to announce whether or not he plans to run for re-election in 2022. He adds there is optimism as Economic Development has already surpassed their yearly goals and there are plenty of projects like Williston Square in the works for the city.
