Central Dakota Children's Choir Presents "Just Sing"
Event Dates and Times
Belle Mehus Auditiorium, 201 N. 6th St. Bismarck
The concerts will feature performances by each of CDCC’s five choirs and CDCC’s Alumni Choir with a special performance by CDCC’s pre-choir, Singing for 2nd Graders, during Saturday’s concert. For the finale, all the choirs will join together for Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory’s “Hope for Resolution.” In its juxtaposition of a European chant melody (Of the Father’s Love Begotten) and an anti-apartheid song from South Africa, this piece is a celebration of diversity. The arrangement reflects our respect for divergent musical styles and points us toward our innate potential for peaceful coexistence.
Formed in 1998, CDCC has grown from one choir of 65 students to five choirs and a pre-choir with 350 children in grades 2 - 12 from 47 public, private, and homeschools from the central and western North Dakota regions. To date, the choirs have performed for more than 190,000 people in the tri-state area and have been invited to perform at many local, state, and regional events. The choirs are directed by Teri Fay, Dawn Hagerott, James McMahon, and Michael Seil.
