Library Hosts Hula Hooping Event

Posted: Updated:

What fun is there in learning about hula hoops at the library? A lot, as long as you were actually playing with them instead of just reading about them.

This event catered to all ages. Children from ages 6 to 66 were out on the floor testing out their hula hoop skills.

The instructor says she's reviving the art of the hula hoop because of it's versatility. She says you can hula hoop a fun exercise by yourself or with family, as well as using it for physical therapy.

"It's a different tool for physical reasons, mental reasons. It gives something to someone who may not be good at sports can be good at this. You can combine it with dancing, you can combine it with any type of other part of your life, and have a healthy addition," says hula hoop instructor Pinto Bella.

Parents say the joy this activity brought to their children's faces definitely made this event worthwhile.
