Classes Begin at MSU

Posted: Updated:

Minot State classes have finally begun.

"I got my book, my pen, my paper and I'm ready to go," says MSU student Kenneth Nelson.

With school in session, preparation is key.

"If you're not prepared, you might be in trouble," says Nelson.

"We could maybe prepare a week in advance and not just wait for the last day," says MSU student Jarrett Peskey.

MSU Professor Lynette Larshus says unprepared students are any professors pet peeve. As a seasoned educator, Dr. Larshus has seen it all. She says she can spot a freshman from a mile away. She says freshmen tend to be more timid in class.

"They tend to not ask as many questions," Larshus says.

"Don't get overwhelmed. It seems like it's a lot of work at first," says Peskey. "But once you start moving, it's pretty easy. Just gotta stay with the flow."

And MSU students have different ways of motivating themselves to get up and go to class.

"If I don't come to class, I don't get to play in the game," says Nelson who is a linebacker for the MSU football team. "So, that's all the motivation I need."
