Cow Attacks Cass County Officer

Posted: Updated:

A Cass County deputy is being treated for injuries after being attacked by a cow early this morning.

It happened after a car crash involving the animal around 3 a.m. along I-94 west of Fargo. The driver wasn't hurt in the crash, but the cow charged at the deputy and pushed him onto the ground.

The deputy got to his feet just as the cow started charging at him again.

The officer was forced to shoot and kill the animal to avoid a second blow from the animal.
