Pre-Season predictions are made in every sport, and now's the time people are picking football. For 9-Man, Region-4, the pick is an easy one.
Shiloh Christian is the team to beat. The favorite is often the team with the most returning talent.
The Skyhawks only graduated three-seniors from a squad that was one point away from playing in the Dakota Bowl last year.
"I really thing the strength of our team are the guys we have coming back and it starts with AJ and Blake. They've been 3 year starters and we really lean on them along with our offensive line. Jared Glasser and Chris Oswald and Andrew hartman and Dawson Fagerlund those guys are our core returners and they're multiple year starters now and we're a running team so the boredom lies on our offensive line to make holes and our backs have to find them and make guys miss in the open field," says head coach Barker Funnon.
Two seniors realized they're expected to be leaders, but they also know there's nothing to lead if the rest of the team is not on the same page.
"Everybody knows their jobs, and everybody knows we have to go out every day, and get better and I guess as seniors we're all just letting them know they have to keep going 100 percent every day. It's not just two guys being leaders, it's all the seniors, all the juniors everybody who's been here before," says senior A.J. Dale.
"We're trying to bring energy to everyone so that we can get a good look in practice which will just make us better in games and get a better scout O & D and we get a better look at other teams plays and things," says Blake Emmel.
Shiloh is hosting Center-Stanton on Tuesday.
