Officials Discuss Strategy at Energy Conference

Posted: Updated:

Representatives from several agencies were in Bismarck today for the National Quadrennial Energy Review.

The United States Secretary of Interior, Secretary of Energy and Secretary of Transportation were all at Bismarck State College to discuss a national energy strategy.

They spoke about the need to be energy independent and heard comments from the governor and delegation about the infrastructure challenges we face as the second largest oil producing state in the nation, followed by Texas.

"We need infrastructure. The governor talked about needing infrastructure and building infrastructure here in this state. To become energy secure as a country within five years, we need to produce more energy. However, we need to get that energy to market, and we can not do it without infrastructure," says Sen. Hoeven.
