Some things just need to be thrown away.

While selling things online or in a yard sale is a great way to get rid of unwanted item and make a few bucks, there are certain items that are unsafe.

For re-sale in today's Mom's Everyday Minute, a reseller's guide to ensure you're only selling safe products.

Did you know that selling recalled products is against the law? Or that most cribs manufactured before June 2011 cannot be resold? Because of federal law retailers should closely examine their products to make sure they're safe and compliant with the law.

All infant and toddler products must be scrutinized nursery furniture and baby products that have broken, wobbly or missing parts should not be resold.

Other common baby items like bath and car seats, play yards and baby walkers have updated standards.

Visit saferproduct.gov for a list of recall and safety standards when in doubt throw it out.
