At a young age I realized my love for writing and knew that I wanted to use that in the future. My family also realized that I liked to talk…a lot. I would have nicknames like “chatterbox" and "Judge Judy”. The Judge Judy one was mostly because they thought I was a good debater whenever someone tried to argue their point.
As soon as I graduated high school, I went to El Camino College for 2 years and spent most of my time there writing and editing for the campus newspaper called “The Union”. I loved to write for the newspaper but felt that I wanted to do more with journalism. That’s when I transferred to Chapman University’s Film School and graduated with a B.F.A in Television and Broadcast Journalism. During my time at Chapman, I worked all the different positions that go into putting a newscast together. I have been a Californian my entire life and Bismarck is starting to grow on me especially since everyone is so welcoming! In my spare time I like to go to the gym, take my dog for a walk and try new foods.
If you happen to see me around feel free to stop me and say hi, I would love to say hello! I am grateful and excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to learn more about what this city has to offer. If you have a story idea that you would like me to cover please feel free to email me at Zarina.Khairzada@kfyrtv.com.
