Dino Dig Held in Hell Creek

Posted: Updated:
Sixty-five million years ago Hell Creek was home to dinosaurs like Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex. And they were some of the last dinosaurs to ever live.

Now, paleontologists along with dinosaur enthusiasts had a chance to scour the dry river beds for fossils and other signs of prehistoric life.

"We're just scouring the surface looking for anything unusual. When I'm out here I tend not to look for fossils, but I look for symmetry. Symmetry usually doesn't occur randomly in rock formations, symmetry is usually biological," says

Tomorrow is the last day for the public digs in the Bismarck area, but there are other digs taking place across the state. For more information you can visit www.dmr.nd.gov/ndfossil.
