Hoeven Hopes to Crack Down on Drug Cases

Posted: Updated:

Sen. John Hoeven says the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) needs to provide more support to western North Dakota to help investigate drug cases.

He sent a letter to DEA administrator, Michele Leonhart requesting the support in light of the recent crime statistics, which show an increase in drug related crimes.

"I said look we've got to have more agents to work with our local sheriff's, work with police chiefs and local law enforcement in western North Dakota to address the challenge of drug crime," says Sen. John Hoeven.

Hoeven added that he wants the additional agents to be in the state, working full time and as soon as possible.
