Pronghorn Hunting Opens this Fall

After five years, North Dakota hunters will have another opportunity to hunt pronghorn.

The numbers are in and show that the statewide pronghorn growth is large enough for 250 licenses to be issued. This year, the State Game and Fish is splitting the season into an early bow portion and a gun/bow portion.

The bow-only portion opens Aug. 29 and runs through Sept. 28. Game and Fish officials want to remind hunters that anyone who draws a license can hunt pronghorn with a bow, only in Unit 4-A during this period.

The gun/ bow portion runs from Oct. 3 through the 19.

Online applications will be available July 21 at gf.nd.gov. Paper applications will also be available from Game and Fish offices, county auditors and license vendors, or by calling 800-406-6409. Only North Dakota residents are eligible to apply. The deadline for submitting applications is Aug. 6.
