Make up used to be considered for women only, but not anymore. In this week's Inside Business Jim Christianson takes us inside the Lancome counter at Herbergers.
Kathy Stuart has always been a people person, and about 11 years ago she found her niche selling Lancome skin care products.
"I love people. I use to waitress, and decided I want to try something different, so I enjoy the one on one interaction with customers."
And her customers are always seeking new products to give them that special look.
"We invite customers in to try our products, to try our makeup, to get the look they want. If its for a wedding, if its just for a casual, we want them to try our product."
Stuart says that skin care products aren't just for women anymore, and more men are starting to show interest.
"Our products can be for men or women. Great anti-aging products, especially men love the creams for day time. We have sunscreens, eye creams which everybody needs."
Stuart and her staff were one of a handful of Lancome stores nationwide that was recently honored by a visit from national make-up artist Alex Sanchez.
"This store earned it via Kathy. She's in the top two percent of the corporation, and gives incredible customer service, and thats why we visit the store because she does deserve this event."
Stuart says Lancome is rolling out new products this fall, including new mascara, night cream and yes, skin care products for men.
Lancome is located within Herbergers in the Kirkwood Mall.
