Job Service Predicts Annual Wage Increase

Posted: Updated:

It's no surprise the highest wages in the state are earned in oil counties. Nine of the top ten produce oil and gas.

Job Service of North Dakota says the average annual wage by county list is trending upward. By the year 2022 employment will increase by 12.8 percent. A lot of the jobs affected will be in the service industry.

"In health care, leisure and hospitality, retail trade. That's where we really like to see the extra bodies, the families that might take some of these jobs across the state geographically," says Michael Ziesch of Job Service.

The state wide wage average is $47,779 dollars. Burleigh County ranks 14th on the average wage-by-county list. Cass County is 16th.
