Posted: Updated:
It was an important day, a day of change at the Minot Air Force Base.

Airmen, local community leaders and family members gathered in Minot Air Force Base's Doc 1 for the 5th Bomb Wing Change of Command Ceremony. Col. Alex Mezynski, who served as the 5th Bomb Wing Commander since January 2013, has been replaced by Col. Jason R. Armagost.

"My brief words are to simply. I'd like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to lead this wing. To Major General Vander Hamm, thank you for your trust, support and for your leadership in one of the most storied organization in the Air Force, the Mighty 8th," says Armagost.

The 5th Bomb Wing operates the B-52 Stratofortress long-range bomber, which provides full-spectrum deterrence and support of the 91st Missle Wing.
