Passion for Paintball Creates a Big Family

Posted: Updated:

This may look and sound like a war-zone, but at the end of the day it's all friendly fire. For Three Brothers, paintball is one of just two fields in the state and co-owner Tim Zander says all they wanted was a safe and fun environment to let the paint fly.

"We had no idea what we were getting into we just thought it would be a few friends here and there getting together but as you can see it's just grown immensely in the last few years," says Zander.

In just five years the competition at Three Brothers has grown from a small group of friends to more than 150 paintballers. Zander says part of the appeal of the sport is that anyone can do it.

"Everyone can do it, anyone of any age group can do it just overall fun with everybody," said Clayton Styron a frequent paintballer.

Paintballers from all over the world have played at Three Brothers. It is part of the reason the business is so successful is because at the field, family isn't only determined by blood.

"They get to see how we operate as a family and that just brings us all together it develops a family environment as well, and we've heard that so many times before," says Zander.

The adrenaline packed game is constantly recruiting new warriors and players. The honesty of the sport is what sets it apart from others.

"When you get hit you can see it clear as day that you're out, where as airsoft there's more of a threat of cheating,"says player Drew Ellison.

And there's just one thing that keeps these paintballing packs coming back to Three Brothers.

"Probably all the people that come and how fun and energetic they are and its just a good environment," says Nate Burns.

Zander says the potential for Three Brothers paintball is limitless.
