Teen Hospitalized after Fiery Crash

Posted: Updated:

A teenager has been flown to a Minneapolis hospital after a fiery crash near Minot.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Christopher Lewin, 19, of South Carolina lost control of his car near the eastern interchange of Highways 2 and 52 just before 11 last night.

The car went off the road, slid into the underside of a bridge and caught fire. Lewin was stuck inside. Rescuers had to put out the fire before getting him out.

Eastbound traffic was shut down for nearly two hours. Authorities say high speed likely played a role in the crash.
