Housing Development Goes Up in Bowman

Posted: Updated:

Without adequate housing, it's difficult to expand business opportunities. And that's one challenge the city of Bowman has faced.

A Lutheran Social Services Housing development in Bowman will provide more housing choices. The Landing received more than $2.4 million in funding, allowing the new apartments to rent at affordable levels.

The three-story complex offers 26 units, eight of which are reserved for people with disabilities.

"Those individuals are individuals who have lived in a group setting all their life. So, this is going to be the first opportunity for them to move into individual living units. And so, it's very exciting for those tenants," says Jolene Kline of the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency.

Kline says the new housing will make it easier for employers to recruit and retain employees.
