Bismarck YP Network Looking to Partner with Non-Profit

Scott Hanson says he's still kinda new to YP, having been a member for almost a year, but he loves being part of the organization. 

"It is an exciting opportunity to get out and really engage with the community and engage with your peers," says Hanson. 

Last year was also the first year YP partnered with a nonprofit, the Central Dakota Humane Society. With more than 200 members, each person volunteered in areas that matched their strong suits. 

"Looking at a dollar, you know, well over $4,000 when you look at dollars raised in time. And that's probably underestimating the amount of time if you can put that in dollars. It feels great! It's something that we just want to keep doing year, after year, after year," says YP Network Vice President, TJ Jerke. 

"They are just so dynamic and so positive," says CDHS Volunteer & Special Events Coordinator, Mandy Schaaf. "And they are just fun to be around. Not one member of them has been anything but delightful to work with."

CDHS says the only thing they'd say they don't like about YP is that the partnership only lasts a year.

"This next year is we're working with a new nonprofit any way we can help out," says Jerke. "You know, we're gonna open up our books, look at our calendar in the next year."

CDHS says any nonprofit would be lucky to have YP work for free for them. Jerke says that vote of confidence is what they need to keep pushing forward.
