Williston Blast Preview

Posted: Updated:

The 25th annual Williston Blast Celebration is only a day away, and preparations are happening right now.

The event will be held at the Upper Missouri Valley Fairgrounds this year. With that being the case, people can still expect the same excitement as before.

“The decision was made last fall,” says Scott Meske the Williston Chamber of Commerce president. “The move out here to the fairgrounds, which is a great venue for everything we've got planned. And the sidewalk sales are going on downtown right now, which is great. Tomorrow, we're going to be out here all day and all night.”

The set up is being done by DC Entertainment. The whole process started earlier today with bleachers being placed across from where the stage will be.

“We do a lot of this. We did it last year and it was downtown. This year they were going to be tearing it up. So, they moved it out here for the year. It was a great time. I had a lot of fun," says Dean Clott the owner of DC Entertainment.

There will be a couple different food vendors for variety. Tables were also being set up so everybody will be able to sit down and enjoy their food.

The stage is one of hardest things to set up because everybody's help is needed. This stage is where the Ribfest judges will decide who has the top ribs in town.

“Everybody's like how many rib teams.” says Meske. “Who's involved. And I won't tell you who's all involved, but we got 10 rib teams. They think they're all best. They're competing for prize money. We're going to have some fun with that.”

Meske added the Chamber of Commerce has been working on the celebration for six months and they also had contributions from a lot people around town.
