Wings of Freedom Visits Minot

Posted: Updated:
The Wings of Freedom tour travels the nation with B-17's, B-24''s and P-51's as a flying tribute to those who flew them, maintained them, built them and the soldiers, sailors and airmen they helped protect.

The tour has flown into Minot, and will be here until they depart on July 3, giving citizens a chance to share the freedom that they helped preserve. The Wings of Freedom tour is celebrating it's 25 year and visits about 110 cities in more than 35 states annually.

"I think it's a hand in recognition of World War II. We don't have a lot of veterans with us from that war, and consequently that's the era that these airplanes are from," says Don Larson of the Dakota Territory Air Museum.

The Wings of Freedom tour is on display at the Minot International Airport at 100 34th Ave. NE.
