Don't Buy It Until We Try It: Yoshi Grill and Bake Mat

Posted: Updated:

For many, summer is all about grilling, but when you go to take off all those juicy ribs and burgers, they usually end of sticking to the grill. Well, there may be a way to enjoy cooking on the grill without the mess.

The propane tank is on, the flame is hissing, which means it's time to grill at the Emmert’s.

"We are going to do two racks of very messy ribs and see how they work,” says Jeff Emmert the grill expert.

There's a twist to this recipe. Instead of using the grill rack, we're going to put the Yoshi Grill and Bake Mat to the test to hopefully make grilling a little less messy.

"We'll close it and see what happens," says Emmert.

Each time we opened the grill, the ribs looked better and better.

"Oh yes, they are looking so good,” says Emmert. “Look at that sizzle. Look at everything bubbling up and smoking nicely, and I think that would get a good smoke on these if I was trying to smoke them, but they are just about done."

You'll notice the mat is not moving around, it stays right in place. And, the best part, it is mess free.

"Well, that answers the clean up question. You can see how easily the burnt BBQ sauce just comes right off," says Emmert.

After much anticipation, we grabbed our tongs and the ribs were ready to come off the grill.

"If I can get up under them. They're done so well. They're going to fall apart on me. Wow, that's what you call good ribs right there," says Emmert.

You'll notice the plate of ribs is perfectly grilled, and they have the marks to prove it.

"I can pretty well guarantee if you put that under water right now and rinse it off, you would see everything I got off into the flames and you could have cleaned up later, so I think you can say that the product earns thumbs up at least from me," says Emmert.

I will admit I was a little nervous about this product because I didn't know what to expect, but it was great. It was easy to use and clean up was simple. If you like grilling, but hate the mess, this is definitely something you'll want to have around, especially for the summer months.

So, this week's Don't Buy It, Until We Try It, earns a thumbs up.
