Williston CVB Gives Town Tour

Posted: Updated:

The Williston Convention and Visitor's Bureau (CVB) decided to have a Williston Familiar Tour to help the new people in the community see what the area has to offer.

The tour started off at Meg A Latte where people got to enjoy some coffee and breakfast. Then, it was time to board the bus to head to the first stop.

“We have some hoteliers on the tour.” says Amy Krueger the executive director of the Williston CVB. “We have my staff on the tour. Some different people that do offer that front line customer service to some tourist. And those types of places. It's really to get them familiar with our area and what we have to offer.”

Today, was day two of the Williston Familiar Tour. The schedule looked like this. First, go to the Links Golf Course at 9:30 a.m. Then, head to Lewis and Clark State Park at 10:15 a.m. After that, go to Lund's Landing at 12:30 p.m. The final stop is a tour of the lake.

“Yesterday we went to Fort Buford and Fort Union. And today, we're going to go to Lewis and Clark Park. And so we're going to learn about the park," says Deanna Baton a Williston resident.

“I'm excited just to be outside in nature and to do some kayaking and canoeing.” says Mariah Warwas, who is a Williston resident. “We're going to go on a pontoon tour on the lake. I don't know just get to know people. It's hard to meet people around here sometimes.”

Everybody was able to enjoy the golf cart rides at the golf course while also seeing the cabins they offer. Then, some people got in the water to do some canoeing and kayaking at the State Park.

“I'm always down for new experiences and like getting out of the house. It's just cool to sign up for little things like this,” says Warwas.

Throughout the tour, there was opportunities to see the trees and lake to really show what the area has to offer.

Krueger says they haven't decided on whether the tour will continue next year.
