Organization Fights Sex Trafficking

Posted: Updated:

A new coalition hopes to combat sex trafficking in the state.

A Force to end human Sexual Exploitation, or FUSE, consists of several organizations including, Prevent Child Abuse North Dakota, First Nations Women's Alliance, North Dakota Women's Network and the National Association of Social Workers-North Dakota.

The group met today to discuss their mission and goals moving forward.

"Communicating between law enforcement, victim services, public policy makers, concerned citizens, to sort of keep that communication going and make sure that we're not turning a blind eye to something that really is a horrifying crime, a horrifying situation that young people, women men, find themselves in our state," says Christina Sambor of FUSE.

They hope to meet on a regular basis and help provide awareness and support to victims.
