Police Investigate False Report

Posted: Updated:
A reverse 911 call was made to residents on Cottonwood Loop and Bridgeport Drive after Bismarck Police Department received an internet Skype call from a man claiming to have a hostage and bombs in his home.

Police say the caller gave an address on where he could be found and threatened to harm the hostage and blow up the house.

"This time it appears that is was a prank. Investigators are still working on trying to track down the IP address of where this call came through. It was a Skype, some kid of IEP internet type phone thing. So someone could manipulate that, and really be anywhere," says Lt. Jeff Solemasass of the Bismarck PD.

Bismarck police say once the suspect is found, they will face terrorizing charges.
