High Speed Chase Leads to Man's Death

Posted: Updated:

A Dickinson police officer shot and killed a man Saturday night. It started when Timothy Bowling, 31, originally from Mississippi, led them on a high speed chase through a residential area in a stolen vehicle. Bowling then abandoned the vehicle and ran off.

Officers found him armed with a handgun in one of the homes. Police say he forced them into a deadly situation, and one of the officers shot him.

Bowling later died from his injuries at the hospital. The officer responsible has been placed on paid administrative leave pending outcome of the BCI's investigation of the shooting.

Mandan police say they believe Bowling is the same person responsible for stealing a pickup from Dakota Siding and stealing money from two other businesses.
